EXIT PLANINNG

At Structured Financial Partners, our mission is to help the owners of closely-held companies achieve success in exiting their business.  Exit Planning is the tool that allows us to do this.

Our clients are typically the owners of companies doing $5 to $100 million in revenue.  They are over age 50 and expect to make a transition out of that ownership position in the next two to ten years.  We use a consultative process to help ready them and the business for the optimal result from both a cash flow and a tax perspective.

Exit Planning, to us, is process oriented, not transaction oriented.  This is important, because some owners want to keep a business in the family, while others want to sell to outsiders.  Our process works well in either case.

We work collaboratively with attorneys, CPAs, bankers, investment bankers and other key members of our clients' financial team to prepare the business for the owner's eventual exit.  Our goal is for our clients to receive maximum value while minimizing risk and taxation.

Our exit planning services revolve around the needs of entrepreneurs and affluent individuals and are best described in terms of the questions we can answer.

EXIT PLANNING questions:

How do I assure I am getting the value I need from the business (on an after-tax basis) to achieve financial security?

How do I keep the business in the family when I can't afford to simply give it the children and they can't afford to buy it?

  •  I want to sell my business for top dollar.  Is it marketable?  What is it worth?  What can I do to improve its value? Have I properly addressed leadership and financial contingencies? Are there hidden legal issues that impede the smooth transfer of the business?

Learn about the FOUR PHASES OF THE EXIT PLANNING PROCESS

    • In this phase we determine the owner's objectives
      • How long until you want to exit?
      • How much money do you expect from the sale?
      • Who do you expect to sell to?
  • Phase Two--Building the Structure
    • In this phase we focus on growing the value of the business
      • Building and incenting a management team that adds value to the business
      • Demonstrating sustainability of earnings
      • Systems and procedures
  • Phase Three--Putting the House in Order
    • In this phase we focus on protecting the value of the business
      • Contingency Planning
      • Succession Planning
      • Estate Planning
  • Phase Four--Turning Over the Keys
    • In this Phase we focus on the transition
